But just before we do let me say that the Crazy Quilt exhibit opened and it was lovely! Members of the group and other visitors to the museum enjoyed looking at all the many items on display - 40 in all. To see more about it, just visit MissMarthasCrazyQuiltingCircle.

Since I haven't posted regularly for several days, I need to back up to last weekend and show you what my daughter gave me for Valentines Day (we weren't able to get together on the actual day, so it was late but not a problem) - a sweet little journal and the gift box with goodies. Not the book, though, more on that in a minute. Anyway, Collette and I love doing goodie bags, gift boxes, tiny treats, for our friends and such. She likes to put together little gifts for all her staff at Christmas and other holidays because even a little remembrance lets people know that they are appreciated. In addition to the candies in that little box there were two gifts. Mr. Loved Bear is modeling a vintage crocheted beanie that is sooooo cute (I tried it on and it does not look good on me so the bear gets it permanently). His friend is modeling the beaded bracelet she gave me. It's too pretty and I will need to make a new jacket with 3/4 sleeves just so I can wear it. She bought it at the St. Peter Co-op where they have other pretty little beaded items for sale. Who would have thought you'd find something so pretty among the natural foods?

Now to the book - "Color Me Beautiful". Are you familiar with this one? I have the first edition of it and Collette loaned me this new copy that she bought because the color illustrations are so much better. I am a "winter" and when I wear the colors that a "winter" should wear, I look better and I feel better. I have a mostly "thrift shop" wardrobe and I've decided I am going to do some spring cleaning this week and make a pile that will go back to the thrift shop. If they don't fit my "winter" color scheme, they're gone. Now if I could just find a book called "Color me thin" that didn't involve giving up chocolate!!

Speaking of chocolate, Kaiser got into my Hershey's Kisses and ate one too many. Thanks to the answer and treatment that I found when I googled "What do I do if my dog eats too much chocolate", Kaiser is doing fine. My husband reminded me that perhaps I should not leave such things where the dog can get them. He got them out of my purse, which I left on a chair so he was a very brazen little doggie! My brother-in-law, who is a vet told me that the milk chocolate is not so bad for dogs but the dark chocolate is not good and requires immediate treatment. So keep those candies up high and away from the dog and make sure the kiddies can't get them either!!

It's a Happening!!

That's right! It's a happening all right, and a cool one, at that! Tomorrow - which I guess it already is because it's after midnight as I write this - is the opening day for the Crazy Quilt Exhibit at the Scott County Historical Society. You are probably getting tired of hearing me talk about it. If you're not, though, and you want to read more about it then go here and you can read what I posted a few minutes ago. It's a little background, a "setting of the stage" for the photos and stories I will share of our wonderful little crazy quilt group. I am looking forward to greeting visitors at the historical society and watching them as they view the quilts and other crazy quilted items. It is always a joy to see others enjoy the handwork that we do.

I have been on the computer a lot today (I did manage to get the laundry done) and chatting back and forth on my Wooly Buddies group. We are having a good time celebrating our One Year Anniversary. One of the things that I shared with them is the pattern for my Turkish Rose Pincushion and I decided to let you in on the celebration, too. If you go over to MommasPincushions, you will find the pattern and how to download it.

On Sunday, as promised, I'll be posting the BOM blocks for March. Then I'll take a day's break and post the Redwork Christmas ornament on Tuesday. For a sneak peek of the ornament that I'll be making, please go here. Then before you know it Wednesday will be here and it will be Tea Time. I have an Irish theme planned for a late afternoon tea.

Another little peek at the Crazy Quilting exhibit!

That's right, just another little peek. I will share more pictures Saturday evening after I return from the opening day of the exhibit. If you are reading this and you are in the Twin Cities area and would like to see the exhibit it's located at the Stans Museum, 235 South Fuller in Shakopee. The museum is home to the Scott County Historical Society. Admission is $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for students. The exhibit opening times - 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7th. The exhibit will continue through October, 2009. For more information on SCHS, hours of operation, and the exhibit, you can check out the current newsletter here.

You'll learn all about the pieces shown above when I share pictures on Miss Martha's Crazy Quilting Circle (you'll find it here). I have to admit that my right arm, shoulder and neck are really quite tired and achy from lots of sewing on some of the pieces, rotary cutting of blocks for some projects, etc. so tomorrow I will not be sewing at all but will be doing laundry and some cleaning. And I might have to take a nap. :-)

A visit to the "Chipmunk Theater"

Some of you may remember the pretty picture of the old sled that was on my blog header in December. Well, this is what it looked like after "The Big Snow" we got on Thursday. I snapped this picture just as Jacob, my grandson and I were headed out to eat dinner last night.

It's almost totally buried!!! Fortunately, our neighbor, Jerry, snowplowed his way across the street and plowed out much of our driveway so I didn't have to shovel a path to the mailbox. And because he did that, I was able to take Jacob for a treat and when Steve got home today he was able to get in the garage. I called to give my thanks but just want to say "Hi" to Cathy and Jerry and "thank you" again!! Now if you all want to know what Jacob and I have been working on you will want to visit us here ....... at the "ChipmunkTheater".
Of course, I've squeezed in work on my crazy quilting projects and there was laundry and cleaning, too, but mainly we had fun!! :-) I will not get my BOM posted by tomorrow and so please bear with me, be patient, etc. and I will publish them next Sunday, March 8th and e-mail the blocks to all of you on the list. It's possible I'm trying to do too many things, but February is a short month so I'll blame it on that!! :-)

The Big Snow

It arrived. Thought it might not happen when by 11:00 a.m. no snow was falling. Within an hour there was a ton of snow falling, up to a couple inches per hour. It tapered off about 1:30 p.m. but there is snow everywhere and now it's blowing all over. There'll be shoveling to do tomorrow as it's several inches deep on the driveway....just a path, though. With my husband out of town on business, he'll get to snowblow the driveway as soon as he gets home. There'll be no getting into the garage unless he does!

Busy hands today doing cleaning and stitching and typing. Tomorrow is all stitching. That is until my grandson arrives in the evening. My projects will go on the "back burner" while he's here and I'll get back to them on Sunday. We'll be crafting, though. Always do some project when he comes to visit, so we'll post pictures for sure.
