I'm still here!

It has been a very long time since I posted here on my blog. I think it's time to get back in the swing of blogging. Life has been very busy the past few years and I joke that I "meet myself coming and going" when I'm going here, there and everywhere.

This coming weekend is the Memorial Day weekend and it's a time to remember. I'm working on flowers to take to the cemetery and will be doing a lot of "remembering" in the next couple days. One of my earliest memories of taking flowers to the graves was with my Grandma Goldie. I was about 11 or 12 and I helped her as she put the flowers on the graves of her parents at McGuire Bend Cemetery. It was called Decoration Day back then and it was not a three day weekend. Times have changed and the Memorial Day weekend is a holiday weekend. The main purpose is still there..... remembering those who served in the military, especially those who died during service. And also remembering all who have passed. It's a good thing to remember. I'll be thinking of Grandma Goldie and my Grandpa Thurman, my dad Melvin and mother Mary, Great Aunt Bell and Uncle John and so many more family and friends, too. I hope you have family and friends to remember, too.

Have a blessed and beautiful weekend.....

Sandi
