First, I couldn't sleep last night for some reason. I got up an hour later than I wanted to and I couldn't get moving. I headed out to go grocery shopping with a stop first at Little Star's Early Learning Center which is the daycare facility my daughter owns and operates. :-) They had done some major classroom painting and rearranging and gave me a little tour. When my birthday rolls around next week, I will tell you the funny thing one of the little boys said to me during my tour. Too cute! I had fabric errands to run after that as I have baby quilts to make and so more on that when I get to them. I grabbed lunch but should have skipped it as the sandwich from Great Steak was not so great. Sorry, I have to be honest. I needed to eat, though, as one should never go to the grocery store hungry. A quick stop at the Dollar Store for dishtowels and some birthday things for my niece, then off to the grocery store. Now, I love cruising the aisles of the grocery store. I've shared this before.....it comes from enjoying trips to the store with my Grandma and I guess that's why I enjoy it. :-)
So, when I reached home with all the groceries and stuff, then got it all put away, I had 30 minutes before I was heading downtown for "Music on Main". This meant there was no time to post a giveaway. I was not going to miss this evenings musical guest, Amy Korteum and her Celtic Band. That's Amy on the harp. She is a very gifted harpist and has a lilting, lovely voice. if you want to hear a bit of her talent just go here and you'll be at her website. She also has a blog where she shares her sense of humor. Her sense of humor is evident between songs and she has the most delightful laugh! You can see it in her smile in this picture.
Now you may also notice in the photo above that the drummer is not playing and looks like his mind is elsewhere, and the fiddle player is also silent. That's because some tunes are solos or duets and others are done by all the members. And all the members are..........
Sam the drummer (playing the bodhran), Martha on recorders and whistles, Amy on the harp (and vocals) and Marti Ryan on violin. They shared many lovely ballads and a few jigs (sadly no one danced) and it was a lovely way to spend a Friday evening on the patio outside Toody's Sweets. "Music on Main" is a six week series sponsored by the businesses in Henderson and if you want to come and hear the music next week just click here for more info.
If you don't live nearby, though, you are probably not looking for more info on anything in Henderson except what's in the Day 4 giveaway bag. And so...............here.........it.........is.........

Hello Sandi, I am having trouble sleeping tonight. Should make tomorrow's grocery shopping interesting. LOL I have never done any crazy quilting nor wool quilting, so can't really say whether I like either one of those. I plan to try them some day, though. I do know that I love patchwork, applique, and redwork. (grin) Winona
Hi Sandi,
Gee you were a busy woman today. I just did cutting and stitching all day but the cutting part is really tiring.
Like you, it is hard to name a favorite, however; I do enjoy hand stitching more than sewing on the machine although I do both. I alternate between the two making quilts, patchwork, applique, hand quilting, redwork, crazy quilting and crocheting.
It is late and I need some down time. Have a good night and keep on stitching!!!
Hi Sandy,
You're so busy!!!!
I like hand stitching, I think it looks much better on the CQ blocks and other sane quilts as well. Oh, CQing is my passionate interest. I love hevaliy embellished blocks. But, they should have a nice color harmony:))
I also like crocheting, cross stitching, needlepoint.
Love,
Rengin
Hi Sandi, i don't have a favourite method of quilting. I love to piece either by hand or machine, embroider, redwork, applique - either buttonhole or needleturn. Hugs, Jeanette
My favorite is needleturn applique but I also love hand piecing and hand quilting....I guess I should just say my favorite is hand work LOL.
Crispy
I love to do the wool work lately.......and I enjoy doing hand quilting (but only on small pieces). I love how my very few needle-turn applique projects turned out but I don't do it enough to master it and say it's a favorite...although I'd like to become more proficient at that. I did one crazy-quilting block and the jury is still out on it with me. LOL
the days do go so quickly ...I've always wanted to do some crazy quilting
My style of quilting has changed many times over the years. Right now, I'm into just plain old piecing. But I have run the gamut from crazy quilting, to applique, to wool felting.

Hi Sandi,
I like quilts finished with herring bone completed with embroidery thread afterwards between all the blocks. It was a gift and I treasure it.

I have been mainly doing traditional quilts but have recently been looking at CQ's. Today I am actually joining some other ladies to look at an exhibit of Crazy Quilt from the early 1900's. Should be a good day!
You had a very busy day.
I haven't tried crazy quilting yet but it is on my to do list. I've seen some amazing crazy quilts!
I love redwork, applique, and patchwork.
I am new to quilting...been quilting not even a year yet. I think my favorite quilting is making a bear paws quilt for my daughter in flannel...although I found flannel hard to work in. Heather from WNY
Sandi, as a fairly new quilter till now I have strictly done patterns and followed them to a t. In fact I don't know all the names to some of the quilts. Not to sound stupid but exactly what is a crazy quilt? Is that where you cut all the strips, mix them all up randomly and then sew them as they appear on pile? I enjoy applique more and more and the wool felting. Pat is teaching us paper piecing and I am having fun with that
Hello Sandy,
I am sorry but I have no style I like best. I like all style, I zhink when the quilt is in my favorite colour, I like them. I depends more on the colour than on the style.
Greeting
Guilitta
I enjoy piecing traditional quilts. That is my favorite. I love the process of cutting and putting it back together like a big puzzle.

A bag full of goodies. I can't resist. I love traditional quilting the vry best. I am drawn to antique quilts.

Good morning Sandi, I guess I like all kinds of quilting and have tried my hand at CQ and loved it, but I need things that are more portable. Always do my handwork in my comfy chair and every time I wanted something it was in my sewing room. Now I'm doing Redwork--One piece of fabric - one color - and I'm good!! Love applique but not good at it. My quilts always seem to be scrap quilts. Also hand quilt. Hope your day today is a little slower. Take Care
Sandi! You have some great giveaway prizes! There will be some very lucky winners!
I like all kinds of quilting. I think each person has their own style and each style is unique. We all bring our individuality to the quilting we do. Did that make sense??
Oh, Love this question! At heart I am a CrazyQuilter. I love it because it brings together all the needlework skills that I learned as a child from family members. I only wish they were still around today so I could thank them way more than I did as a kid for what they gave me. That said I also love what we crazyquilters call "Sane quilting". I love the piecing part the most, but I don't do much that is complicated. When I am piecing a top, whether it's a doll quilt or lap quilt, I feel a strong connection to my maternal grandmother who passed away before I was born. I imagine she and I would have wonderful times together because she was an avid quilter in the 1920's and 1930's. I own 2 of her quilts which I treasure greatly.
I am at heart a scrap quilter, only because I can't bear to throw anything away! I do like hand work but have very little experience at it. Every summer I tell myself I'm going to prep myself some blocks for an applique quilt and I never get around to it...may be this year???? I've saved a few velours to make a crazy quilt, so these would be a nice addition to that collection.
Hi Sandi, As like you I enjoy all kinds. I especially quilting where embroidery is used and I like wool. Small projects are my favorite but when a larger one gets done I think to myself, "Did I really do THAT?" It's a wonderful Saturday here in PA.
Hugs, Denny
My style of quilting is to satisfy my need to handle awesome fabric texture and color while creating gifts for the ones I love and for those less fortunate. I think the way you prioritize with family, friends and quilting is awesome.
Hey Sandi,
Sorry you had a hard time sleeping, I get that way too sometimes.
I love most aspects of Quilting, I've done Fiber Arts quilts, patchwork, applique and crazy quilting. but i've only done alittle of it so far.
Hope you have a better day today.
Huggs,
Cleary
I love various types of handwork. Right now I'm really into stitchery, but I also love needleturn appique, and handquilting, too.
Hello Sandi, My favorite is Applique. That way I can use any type of applique that I want and any type of embellishments that I want to use. Warm hugs, Ruthie
I love plain old patchwork quilting and hand stitching. I find hand stitching more relaxing than machine stitching. I would love to try crazy quilting.
I like pretty simple quilting, like the 9 patch I made out of the leftovers from all the sewing I did for my daughter when she was little. If only I had access to a longarm and could get it finished, I'd be thrilled!

Applique is my passion, I'm learning about thread painting with my wall hangings, sure would like to try crazy quilting.

Hand stitching for sure is my favorite. It is so relaxing and can be done while watching TV, or yakking on the phone. Hope you get a good night's sleep tonight. Sarah

That is a really tough question! I like doing applique, but it's time-consuming. I guess I'd have to say patchwork. And one day I will make a crazy quilt with all the crazy scraps I have!
I love outdoor music in the summertime. I've I lived near you I would join you for a concert.
I don't have a favorite type of quilting - I like all of them I've tried. I haven't tried crazy quilting, but this goodie bag would be a great way for me to try it.
That's a hard question as like almost everything. I think I prefer... No I can't decide what is my favorite,
Lotta
What a wonderful bag of goodies. I am new to quilting and enjoy traditional quilting the best but love handwork also...redwork, embroidery and crazy quilting.
I love handstitching and handquilting most of all. And now when I have started to do stitchery it is so fun do combine blocks and stitchery. And I loooooove doing needle turn applique. Hard to choose one favorite :)
it is sooo hard to choose, but if I must, I pick scrappy piecing. I like the crumbs and strips technique.
I like to do the traditional patches.I'm only beginer quilter and I have fallen in love because of the traditional style.
Hi Sandi
My favourite style of quilting is any that I don't have to do... ie when my mother does it for me! I love the look of crazy patchwork and I have tried my hand at some very basic blocks of them this year, but I'm still to do the embroidery and embellishing. For me, the quicker the better!
More fabulous prizes for people. Sandi you are the woman! Your town does such nice community events. How sweet.
Oops! I didn't mean to delete that post! Oh well, what I originally said was that my current fav is machine quilting. I can't seem to keep enough stabilizer! I'm really wow'd by crazy quilting but haven't tried it, yet :)
Hi Sandi what a great bag of goodies you are giving away. Right now I have to say that I just started working with wools and love handstitching. But I come from a background of traditional quilting and keep getting further and further into embellishing alos.
Oopsie, quilting !! As a newcomer, I am open to all styles, but till now I have liked the ones with stichery most.
That bag sure looks like it will get me started on the 'feared' quilting path. Oh, do pick me up !! :-)
Thanks.

I have always loved crazy quilts and even made a small one for me daughter one time.
I'm leaning more and more towards art quilts, with a hint of tradition. That said, I'm working mostly on traditional stuff right now.
What type of quilting do I like best??? Well for the past 2 years I've taken up hand piecing. Yep, sewing machine was put in mothballs, not by choice I may add. I love hand piecing and I love the 0ld patterns grandman used to make, so that I what I do and love it. Someday I will have a completed top, handpiecing takes soooooo long, but it is beautiful.
I would say that I'm a traditional quilter. I like piecing and applique on the same quilt top.I am starting to work a little with selvages. I haven't actually completed a project but I think it will happen soon. Thanks for the giveaway.
Another great collection, Sandi.
My favorite type of project is usually whatever I am working on. If I get bored, I change to another project.
My favorite style of quilt is one that has at least some applique and embroidery on it. I'm going to make a Baltimore album quilt soon.

Hi Sandi. Thank you for entering me in this drawing.
I am new to quilting myself, but have always loved the look of the crazy quilts. It is fascinating seeing what bits & pieces are incorporated into the design. One of my grandmothers really enjoyed this style while the other pretty much did the straight piecing of nine blocks (which I also enjoy.)
Thanks so much for the fun and your generosity! As I said earlier, I'm not really a quilter. My favourite quilt style to look at is probably crazy quilting or mosaic art quilts. The only kind I've actually tried is the simple patch style.
I started out as a patchworker and that's my true love. My stand by for quick gifts and stash busting. But I just discovered crazy quilting and embellishing with stitches which I do enjoy now too. I've started adding applique and oh no! I'm taking a studio journal course and just may start art quilting. I love it all! This goodie bag looks delectable! Thanks for the chance.
I love applique, and crazy quilting. When I need the satisfaction of someting growing fast I move to the machine.
I agree that the style of quilting I like best depends on the day and my mood. My choice is easier because I have only two styles to choose from, traditional piecing and appliqué. I haven’t yet learned to do paper piecing or crazy quilts, but each day brings new possibilities of learning new things. Soon I will wander out of my comfort zone once more and master a new skill.
Hi Sandy
I love hand quilting and needleturn applique, I find them very relaxing!
All my quilts are handmade. The one I love the most is those who are based on old technics and patern. I'm not a great fan of moderen quilting.
But, offcourse thats personal.
I also like stitcheries, redwork in my quilt. But only a view.
