When it comes to music, I love the "Oldies but goodies" and I think the same could be said for many of the quilts that I like. Here's a wonderful "Oldie but goodie" ..............
There was quite a breeze blowing as I took the picture of this lovely old scrappy quilt. I just love to watch the quilts blow with the breeze and then settle back down ..........
And then I love to take a close-up picture and really study the different fabrics in these old patchwork quilts.
This quilt is very worn and quite stained but like so many of these old quilts that my dad and mother bought at auction, they still retain incredible charm and beauty. And that's the truth. :-)
I have been away for a few days in Iowa and so this week will be a "catch-up" week. I have so many fun things to "show and tell" in the coming days. We are enjoying a beautiful stretch of autumn weather and gorgeous fall colors. My picture taking does not do justice to the colors Mother Nature has offered up this year. I tried though, and will have some photos to share in my next post. Have a great Monday!

Lucky You! What a fabulous old quilt! I agree with Mommarock sometimes the simple quilts are the best.
That one is gorgeous! I like the older ones the best....love the close up there. Just makes me wonder if some of those were scraps from a favorite shirt or dress, or something else. Thanks for sharing!
One more beauty from your unending collection. You could even start over and I wouldn't mind seeing them again. And, you're right, this is the most beautiful fall and Indian summer we've had in years.
That quilt is so pretty. Would that be a double irish chain? It looks like it is so simple yet so complicated. Thanks for sharing.
I miss seeing large lone trees. Most of the trees here are in clusters or woods. They are pretty, but not as impressive.
It amazes me all the time at how many old and beautiful quilts you have! Thanks for sharing them with us. Hope all went well in Iowa.
Love it! Often the simplest pattern is the best! How wonderful being in possision of such an old quite - a treasure.
