Welcome to my blog! This is my favorite season of the year. I love all the colors, the sights, the sounds, the scents that say "Autumn". To celebrate, I have prepared a pumpkin full of autumn print charm squares that I cut from my fall fabrics while at my retreat last weekend. It's just a simple little item for my giveaway but ....... what you see above isn't all you'll get in the winning package. That's right............ there is a pumpkin filled with charm squares for a lucky winner, but ..... I will have to pack that pumpkin in a special size box and I might have to tuck some other gifties in with the pumpkin so that it arrives safe and sound at the winner's door. There might be chocolate packed in the box or a sweet scent to light the night or some sewing treat. There will be no tricks, though! I love to send off fun surprises and I love gathering treats, so leave me a comment ....... on this post only.........and tell me what your favorite autumn treat or food is. Well, my favourite treat in autumn actually would be plum cake. The way my mom makes it with yeast dough and crumbles (Streusel) on top. I have not had any this year yet ... Must make some!!!!

My favorite autumn treat is popcorn, especially white kernel corn which is lighter and fluffier compared to yellow kernel corn. Last year I planted white popcorn in my garden and harvested several ears. What fun that was!

My favorite about fall is the cooler evenings with a bonfire and roasted marshmellows, also the changing of the leaves and the smell of freshly baked apple pies , love the pumpkin basket of fabric and I love surprises too .

I love fresh baked pumpkin seeds! WE always wash and bake the seeds after the kids have "gutted" the pumpkins! YUM..

ummm favorite pumpkin food...well I can't just say one...noppers...I have to say pumpkin pie, muffins, cookies, oh and can't forget pumpkin spice coffee yummmmmy....as for fall...it is the most beautiful time of the year...the rest colors is something to lavish over...I however have a love/hate relationship with fall as it signifies the end of summer and winter is just around the corner...

Coconut banana bread is always a gorgeous treat once the first cold days of fall come in. Although I can be rather easily persuaded to make it at any time of year ^^ I love this prize, it's so sweet!

My favorite fall treat is pumpkin crunch! It's like a dump cake with pumpkin. You mix pumpkin and evaporated milk together (and some other stuff...) and put it in a 13x9 and then dump a package of yellow cake mix on top and then some melted butter and nuts and bake it! Can't beat it with a stick! Everywhere I take it, people LOVE it!

Every Halloween night when I was a kid, before we went out Trick or Treating, my Mom would make 'Witches Stew' for dinner. It was just plain old beef stew, but for that one night it turned into a more magical dish. Every Halloween, I still make beef stew and it's still magical. :)

Candy corn and apple cider - not that I've had fresh-squeezed in 30+ years! I miss those days back in southern Ontario (I grew up about 10 west of Niagara Falls, lots of orchards and vineyards - oh, the fresh apples and grapes smelled sooooo good! I have bought apple cider in the store and YUMMMMM!! It's close.

My favorite fall treat is fresh from the farm apple cider.
Real toss up: turkey or pumpkin pie? Turkey comes with all the trimmings - sutffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, butternut squash, cranberry sauce but .....pumpkin pie.....I think that little dab of cool whip on top makes that the winner. Anyway, it all makes for a great family gathering on Thanksgiving Day!
