Some of you may have seen this as a sample over at Michele's Quilting Gallery when she hosted her Mug Rug Swap. I found some new fabrics in coffee themed prints and want to make one for my niece. The pieces are cut and ready to sew this Sunday afternoon. I shared the rest of the fabrics with my quilty friends who are at retreat at Villa Maria this weekend. I was supposed to be there, too, but had to make the decision before my surgery whether to go or not. I opted to cancel as I wasn't sure how I'd feel. It was wise as I seem to need a nap every afternoon. Who wants to go to a retreat and nap? It's sewing time when you are at retreat!!! Since I couldn't be there, I wanted to send a little something so I sent copies of my mug rug pattern for everyone (15 friends) and these six fat quarters and some backing fabric. They can each make their own mug rug or cup cozy for their morning coffee.
I thought there might be a few of you out there who also enjoy a morning cup of coffee/cocoa/cream and you might also like to make a mug rug or cup cozy. I have four little fabric bundles for four lucky winners (mug rug pattern will be included). Each bundle has two fat-eighths of coffee print fabric.
Here's how you can win a bundle............The first person who comments will win the bundle with the green ribbon.
Then the bundles tied with pink and yellow ribbon will go to two random winners who comment starting with the second comment and ending with the next to last comment ......because ..........
The last person who comments will win the bundle with the lavendar ribbon!
Just leave your name and e-mail contact. Comments will close at 9:00 p.m. Monday CST.
Winners will be notified by noon Tuesday CST.
Have a lovely Sunday!
Sandi

Oooo, I think I'm first! I don't drink coffee, but I know a lot of people who would love to be gifted with mug rugs!
Glad you're feeling better, Sandi.
I have not made a mug rug yet so this would be fun. So cute. Thank you Sandi, and I am glad to hear you are doing well.
I love coffee, hate mornings! I love mug rugs and have made a few for friends. If I won that fabric, I'd have to keep the mug rug for ME! Beautiful. Thanks for the chance to win.
I'm obviously not up early enough to be the first to comment! Thanks gor the giveaway tho'
I am a slow person in the morning, I have to drink a big cup of tea, then a cup of coffee. It takes long to get started in morning, I am a night owl too. My husband is opposite of me, so I have some hours on my own at night, and he has some hours on his own in the morning :) I have made some mug rugs, but I don't have any with coffee print fabrics.
I love mornings, for me it's the best part of a day. Love to hear birds singing, watching sun rising behind lime-trees and having my first cup of coffee
I'm drinking my first cup as I type! Hot in the winter, iced in the summer. The Pioneer Woman as a great receipe (aka simple) for Iced Coffee!!!
Thanks for sharing, glad to see (read) you're feeling better.
oh good grief -- I'm anonymous ---evidently the coffee hasn't traveled thru the system fast enough yet!
I am a tea drinker but coffee 'your' way sounds delish!!! Thanks for the chance!
Looks like I'll be one of the 'random' winners 'cuz I'm too late for first and too early for second. Very fun giveaway!!
I am a morning person - too bad I spend so much of it in front of this computer! But I always have my cup of coffee at hand - a mug rug would be perfect next to my laptop. Glad you are on the mend!
Ohhh I'm not a coffee drinker either, then I found this great recipe for home made cappucino, all instant coffee, nesquick, sugar, powdered creamer and a little cinnamon ( I can tell you the recipe if you want) and that's all mixed dry in a container, then in the morning I heat up a cup of water and heaping tablespoon of the mix and it's yummy!!
Oh is this a giveaway??? count me in :-)
Mug Rugs are on my "To Do" list and if things would just slow down a little I might be able to do some. I used to drink coffee but several years ago switched to tea. Also love the smell of coffee and also walking down the coffee isle in the grocery store!!
Who knew so many people don't like coffee? Everywhere I go, I seem to be the only non-coffee drinker. I don't even like coffee ice cream so I am not sure even cocoa and whipped cream could help me!
What a sweet gesture to send the fabrics to your fellow retreaters!!!! I know they will love them. I like to have the mug rugs done in darker fabrics just in case some of the coffee spills.
I am an early bird. It's 4:30 or 5 for me everyday, but bedtime is early too.
I'm not really a coffee drinker, like those who MUST have their coffee every morning just to function, but I do enjoy a spin through my local DD maybe once or twice a week, and my afternoon cup of tea or what my husband calls 'fake coffee' which is General Foods International Coffee French Vanilla flavor! I think I would like Beaquilter's recipe in that comment up above! Anyway, mug rugs are fun to make, especially when fun fabric is involved, so please count me IN on this one! So glad you are up and about and feeling good!

I am very much a morning person. DH is a night owl, though. He says when I get up I am ready to go and talk way too much for him! LOL
Hope you are feeling stronger every day! Take it easy and listen when your body tells you to rest. :)
Thanks for the chance to win.

I would love the chance to win the "fixings" for a mug rug. I'm drinking my coffee as I read your post. My ceramic coaster is a bit too noisy at this time of the morning. aschaefer24 at yahoo dot com
I AM a coffee drinker! Every one in my family jokes about the amount I drink. There is a coffee pot in the kitchen, sewing room and the workshop all set up and ready to go. I have made a few coasters with fabric but to make one with coffee material would be the cat's meow. Thanks for the chance to win and take care of yourself!
I love to add a packet of sugar free hot chocolate to my coffee...so good!!
Gives it a rich flavor without the calories...
What a lovely giveaway! and how nice that number one gets to win something. We drink tea most of the time but we do like a mid-afternoon coffee. Thanks for a chance. Linda
heyoulli stersiOh,boy - I so agree with you about getting up in the morning. I can quilt all night, but never at 7 a.m. Love being retired with coffee all the time.
I hate early mornings! I've always told my husband that I'm like a lizard and need to laze around on a rock for a while before the blood get flowing. I think actually afternoons are my best time. Thanks for the chance on you fun giveaway!
Would love to win fabric and pattern for a mug rug. Would love to make one. I'm an up early person, but big nap in the day. Thanks for a chance.
I get up early each week day, make a cup of coffee and sit and read my blogs! I love the coffee themed fabrics. Thanks for this fun giveaway.
I am most definitely a morning person ;-) first thing I do when I get up is make a coffee and check my email and blogs - lucky hubby is a night person - we spend time together mid afternoon on the weekends ;-)
Another nice giveaway, Sandi. I enjoy making mug rugs and find they are a great little gift for friends. Thanks for the chance.
What a fun and interesting way to award the prizes. I'm not a coffee person, at least not very often, but, I'm a hot tea person. I have my own 12 cup coffee pot that is just for hot tea (hubby has his own 4 cup pot for his coffee). I do love hot chocolate, and I make iced mocha coffee in the summer with Malt added (lots of milk, too). Glad you are getting better. Take a nap for me, I wish I had the time.
I bet your friends were excited to get the fabric bundles for a mug rug. I know I would be.
I have been doing a program for work making several projects using precuts. I made mug rugs, but gave them all away as door prizes.
I am not a coffee person but I love my hot chocolate every morning.
Thank you for the chance to win and please take a nap whenever you need it!
I love my coffee and have not made a mug rug yet so would love to win. Thanks.
Not sure about coffee/cocoa/cream, I may just have to give it a try.Love the fabrics, & really enjoy making mug rugs.

I do not want to be in the drawing, as I won the last coffee fabric. I just wanted to comment about the afternoon naps.
Enjoy the afternoon naps now, because it is your bodies way to help you heal. Even long after you are healed on the outside your body will still be healing on the inside, adjusting to hormone changes etc.
I was worried the last time I went to work, as it was a full time job. I had not worked full time for many years. Due to the late fall weather I was taking afternoon naps and that was not allowed at work!!!! I had trouble for a day or two, but after that no problem. I even sometimes work right through my breaks. I will never do that again. As a Christmas "gift" I was laid off and have not been called back! I miss the money, but not the job even if I was sewing all day!
I've thought it would be fun to make a coffee mug rug but haven't because I thought it would be fun to include coffee fabric and have none. (However, I do have some wonderful New Mexico Coffee Company amaretto coffee.)
Thank you for sharing. What a great idea!
oooo, I hope I am the last comment :-) Would LOVE this coffee theme for another mug rug. They are just so fun to make. And the fabric is so appropriate ;-) Hope you are feeling better and are on the mend.
I'm like you used to be...I love the smell of coffee but can't drink it. If I started adding cocoa and whipped cream, I think my doctor would really be ticked at me! Thanks for the chance to enter.
Love the smell of coffee and I also like coffee in any form, even ice cream . Really happy you are improving and will soon be back to the normal. Sarah
would love to win thank you
I am a morning person - the early bird gets the worm! I am so glad you are on the road to recovery.
