ReplyDeleteMy favourite is choc chip cookies. I add a special ingredient, coffee and chicory essence, which gives them a delicious flavour.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas cookie is an old world recipe for a nut crescent. I bought all the ingredients for them, but have not made then. The dough has sour cream and a tiny bit of yeast. They are filled with a ground honey walnut filling. Rolled in powdered sugar right out of the oven. Flake good!

I love your header picture. I am still putting scraps from my kids matching dresses into quilts... and my "baby" is almost 40!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite to make with the kids (and grand kids) is painted cookies. Just make cut-out sugar cookies. mix a bit of food color in cups with egg yolk and paint the cookies with a brush in each color ... then bake. Fun and easy and you can embellish with sprinkles if you like.

I started my grand daughter "helping" me when she was 2 and that year...(almost 3 at christmas time) she literally memorized the recipe and did it all except anything with the oven. Next year...same thing. I was shocked she picked it up so fast and remembered...2 memories in one! I love the cupcake fabric!
