How about a little Snowman giveaway?

According to the latest weather reports, there is snow on the ground in 49 of the 50 U.S. States. Only Florida is missing the snow that has blanketed the rest of this country. As you know, I am planning to post the pattern for "Charlie's Snowman" so you can build a fabric snowman but family life is just a wee bit crazy right now, plus.......... I have been busy this week preparing for a program that I will be presenting to the Deep Valley Quilt Guild in Mankato (MN) this evening. I thought I'd have an easy time preparing for that program as I planned my time carefully and made sure I had six free days prior to the meeting to do the things I wanted to do for the program. Okay, so things don't always go as planned. Yes, I enjoyed having my grandson come visit this past weekend and that gave his mommy a rest, but really, did the dog have to get sick both nights that Jacob was here. LOL! I can laugh now. But then, my husband began suffering on Sunday afternoon which turned out to be a pinched nerve in his neck (probably due to lifting cupboards he's installing in the basement). Thankfully, he went to the doctor and is doing better, but he has been home since Monday!! So much for my well-laid plans. :-)
Anywhooooooo, I have managed to pull things together and I'm ready to present a wooly program to the guild members that I hope they will enjoy. One of the little quilts that I'll be sharing is this one.............
One of 12 little quilts that I designed and stitched to celebrate the Millennium!

I've shared this one before but since there is so much snow across the U.S., I thought it might be fun to give away a couple of these patterns. Leave your name (and e-mail if you do not have a link back to your blog or profile) and tell me if there is snow where you live in your comment. It's that easy! I'll have my random number man draw three lucky names on Saturday evening, January 15th at 8:00 p.m. CST. He should be feeling fine by then and perhaps on Friday, I can finally get the tutorial finished for the "Charlie's Snowman" quilt and get it posted this weekend. I'll mail the patterns out to you as soon as I get replies from the winning names!

  5. Hi Sandi.. I live in Arizona, and we did have some snow flurries here last week, and of course it didn't stick on the ground but a flurry or two just brought memories of what kind of snow I use to be in... And I will say that I don't miss the snow or cold weather at all... Absence makes the heart grow fonder, that's a great saying but when it comes to snow it's not a good message told !! but anyway I just love your patterns and I would just love to win a couple... And I could make the snowman one and just use it for memories.. Keep up the good work..June.... june9190@cox.net

  7. Unfortunately there is snow here.. it is melting thank goodness.. The snow would be fine with me, if it weren't so darn COLD along with it. It is like so cold on the tile floors that my poor puppy is taking her food one niblet at a time over to the carpet to eat it. Brrrr. I love the little bunny on the front with the snowmen.. what a sweet touch!

  10. I live in the northern part of Florida. Although it's very cold, we don't have any snow. However, we did get snow flurries on December 26, 2010. They didn't stick, of course, but it did remind me of my youth when I lived up in snow country. I miss the snow.

  14. My husband just told me of the 49 out of 50 states report as we were going to bed last night. We laughed, because we both love snow! Having grown up in Minnesota, I've had to redefine "snow" now that I am a Southerner. Yes, there are a few patches of white on the ground out there, with plenty of grass blades poking through. It is officially "snow", but the only snowmen I could build around here would be ones out of fabric, or real ones big enough to sit outside a dollhouse! LOL, we'll be thankful for what we have. It is no drift, but it is white!! :-)

Very cute pattern. Show that hubby extra TLC today. A pinched nerve sounds dreadfully painful. I hope he gets relief from his discomfort.

And yes, it's like the old saying goes, "Life is all about how we handle Plan B!" True!

  32. Hi Sandy, those cute little snowmen of yours would be right at home here today! Yesterday afternoon we shoveled out from under about 18 inches of snow! It was so nice to have the kids home, do some baking, make paper snowflakes, read a little, sew a little, shovel a lot and then enjoy a nice chicken dinner together.

Sounds like you're staying pretty busy with all of your planned and unplanned activities! Life is good!

Of course, all of our snow in Ottawa will probably arrive in March .. or April if we're really lucky. A very weird snow year for us, last year was too. I'm happy tho, having only worn my boots once or twice so far. But they are brand new boots!! LOL
