The Promised Giveaway!

I have been promising a giveaway and finally, here it is.  I hope you find it rather fun.  See this photo...........
There are two neatly folded pieces of Christmas poinsettia fabric called "Gilded Poinsettia" from Daisy Kingdom/Springs fabrics.  The Pink fabric on the left has a Silver background and the Red fabric on the right has a Gold background. Each piece is one and a half yards of fabric. These fabrics are from my friend, Cindy. I inherited her stash after she passed away. If you are a regular reader of my blog, you may remember my post about Cindy and her fabrics. If not, you can read my post about Cindy's fabrics here.  Seeing the Silver and Gold backgrounds on these fabrics, makes me think of that Girl Scout rhyme.........

Make new friends, but keep the old.

One is silver, the other is gold.

A circle is round, it has no end.

That's how long, I will be your friend.

Cindy is gone but she is still my friend and she would think this a fun way to share her stash and mine, too.  So, check out this photo and you can see I have two large flat-rate boxes. I have labeled one Red and one Pink . I put the Red fabric in the Red  box and the Pink fabric in the Pink  box. Makes sense, right? And then........
I started adding more fabrics to each box in all sorts of colors and patterns! I am sorting my stash and some of Cindy's fabrics as I want to share the fabric fun. I will fill each box and there will be two lucky winners. All you have to do is tell me the name of one of your friends.........a Silver or a Gold friend, first name only and tell me which box you want if you are the winner, Red or Pink. Easy, right? Think of this as a "Christmas in July Gift"!  So, starting today, July 31st, leave your name and those choices I just mentioned. Then on Monday, August 12th at 6:00 p.m. CST, I'll have my Random Number Man draw two winning names. Good luck!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and special thanks to those who regularly read my blog. I've not been very good at answering your comments but I read them all. Summer has been busy and my mother's health issues continue to be a real concern. Keeping up with my blog makes me smile. Please keep reading and know that I appreciate every comment and e-mail that I receive!

What a beautiful post Sandi. My friend's name was Diana. She lost her battle with cancer 9 years ago, and I still miss her so much. Like you, I miss her emails and phone calls. She would pop in and visit when she was out and about. I am thankful that I made a quilt for her the Christmas before she found out about her cancer. She died 9 months later. I would pick pink, as both Diana and I loved pink. Thanks.

I love the Daisy Kingdom fabric and used to shop at the Daisy Kingdom store in Portland, Oregon when it was still in business. I still have some of the fabrics and crafts that I purchased there.

What a wonderful post about your friend whom I am sure you will miss, but always hold memories of her in your heart forever.

My friend is Denise. She's been my friend since we were in kindergarten almost 49 years ago. We both like silver things during the holidays so I'm going to say the pink would be my/our color choice.

What a wonderful idea for a giveaway. Friends are so special, especially when you're handicapped like me, and have so few. My best friend in school was Gwen, a beautiful soul, inside and out, and I named my first daughter Gwen. My daughter is now one of my best friends too. Thank you so much for having the giveaway. If I'm lucky, I'd like the pink please. Blessed be, hugs!!! Pam

Loved what you wrote but it brought sadness along with it. Recalling my friend Judy who died so unexpectedly from a heart attack; I remember how we so often talked about sewing and quilting and shared stories but never fabric. You see, we were very busy raising children and trying to build a stash before we knew about hoarding etc. She will always be my gold friend but she left me and my silver friend Jackie who now must carry on.

We all love red but pink can grow on one too. Thanks for listening.

My gold friend is Angela who is going through a very difficult time right now. I know she would like the red fabric and I would like to make her a gift with it to help cheer her.
