What's on the line?

A breath of spring is on the line today!! ......................
Isn't this one lovely? I adore the pink and green four patches that connect the rings. The fabrics look like they are from the 30's, 40's and 50's and the quilt appears to be "vintage". However, it's machine quilted but not in the typical way that someone would "stipple" a quilt nowadays. So, I am not sure of this quilts age. I only know that it's one of the quilts my folks bought at auction. Oh, and I know I really like this one a lot!! Do you think this one would be called a "Double Wedding Ring" or is it a "Pickle Dish"?

The weather here in Minnesota isn't exactly feeling "like a breath of spring". It was very windy all day yesterday and the big news is that there is supposedly a big snow storm coming on Tuesday!! I'm ready for it. We have had brown grass too long and need some snow so it will feel like winter. The ground needs the moisture so that when spring gets here things can turn green and the flowers will bloom!

Have a good Monday!!!

I especially love the scalloped edge on this one. I've not yet done a quilt with a scalloped edge, but...maybe someday!

A most recognizable quilt pattern. I think when the pattern first became popular, every quilter made one.

That's a beauty! I'm not sure what the difference is between double wedding ring and pickle dish, but whatever it's called, I love the look of it. Not one I think I'd ever attempt though. Too complicated for me!

It's a bright and sunny day here today, but cold! Spring is not here yet!

The weather has been really crazy here. Snow storm on Thursday night, around 50 yesterday I think.
The Double Wedding ring is beautiful. I love the pattern, but I don't think I will ever get to do one. My want to do list is huge. LOL

It is a gorgeous quilt, to be sure. I would classify it as double wedding ring, but I'm no authority. Yes, the pink and green 4-patches caught my eye, too. Thanks for sharing your lovely quilt!

Mmm, this is a lovely quilt. That shade of green is so refreshing. The scalloped border is a perfect finish. Would love to see the "catalog" of old fabrics. My first thought was Double Wedding Ring. Pickle Dish is an interesting suggestion. I'm not that familiar with PD. Were the names interchanged? So many blocks/patterns have a list of aliases. :-)

Hope we all get some wet storms this week!

Blessings!

Oh this is so pretty! I think this is my favorite of all the ones I've seen you show for a while! Wonderful colors!

I guess if you want snow, I hope you get some. I know the state hasn't had its usual influx of moisture. We haven't had snow, but we've had enough rain to drown us!

That's a beautiful Wedding Ring. Love the colors. These quilts look so different, depending on fabrics used. I have one in Phoenix that's from the 30s and it has a lavender background - totally different look!

Beautiful wedding ring quilt. I saw a couple of these in progress at a quilt retreat that I was at this weekend. Takes a lot of skill and patience to make one...

The colors of this quilt are perfect for the spring season! It would make you feel happy and warm with its sunny colors. I can lay this down in our living room and just sit on it while I read a good book. Haha!
