And Jacquelynne's Book Blog Tour stops today at............

my house and my sewing room. Welcome and Happy Friday!!! This is the final day for Jacquelynne's Book Blog Tour for her first book "Fruitful Hands". I am so happy to have been part of the blog event for her book. I "met" Jacquelynne in the summer of 2008 shortly after I began blogging. While we may never have met in person, we have enjoyed becoming blogging friends. I think it's wonderful how the quilty and stitching world connects so many of us in places all around the world! Hopefully, someday, I will meet Jacquelynne in person but until I do, I'm glad to be a fellow blogging buddy and enjoy sharing the joy of our creative ventures.
I really love the title of her book........"Fruitful Hands".

As quilters, stitchers, knitters, etc., we know that the "fruits of our labors" are the items we create with our hands, and also from our hearts. There is nothing more relaxing for me than stitching, whether by myself or with my mother, my daughter, or with friends. My stress level is at almost zero when I'm stitching. It goes up a bit when I have to rip seams. LOL! Check out Jacquelynne's book and see if there is a project that you can make with your "Fruitful Hands". And there is an opportunity for you to win a copy of the book just by leaving a comment on this post. Read on and I'll tell you the "tiny thing" you have to do to get your name entered in the drawing. The "tiny little thing" could win you a copy of her book but there will be more than one winner because........

Remember the table runner that was "on the line" on my Monday post? Well, I have a kit for it in Jacquelynne's "Sewing Room Social" fabrics. Someone will win a kit for that table runner and the items in the photo above. There's a charm pack of Jacquelynne's "Sewing Room Social" fabrics, and a little notebook where you can keep your quilty plans. Stay in touch with your quilty friends with the pretty little notecards and if you just want to relax with a cup of tea, there's a sweet little book on tea to enjoy with your favorite "cuppa". :-)
They say "good things come in threes" and so here are three of Jacquelynne's patterns that will also go off to three lucky winners. You might even find a fat quarter tucked in the pattern envelope. You never know til you are the winner!

Thanks to Jacquelynne for sharing her fabrics, pattern and fun with me and allowing me to do whatever I want with it. I started working on a large quilt from the bird/flower print in "Sewing Room Social" when I was at retreat last weekend. More on that in a few weeks.

And let's just say.............what if you are not the lucky winner of the book? ..... and you really want a copy, then you can order it here.
And then.......what if you were really wanting some Christmas fabrics from Jacquelynne's "Joy, Peace, Love and Noel" line?  Well, guess what?......I have some of it that Jacquelynne sent me in June. I opened the box from her and here is what I found inside..........
I have a fun Christmas quilt project planned for this fabric and will be sharing it in late August or early September. But before that happens, I'll send one lucky winner, a little sampler of the fabrics. And so now you need to what that "tiny little thing" is that you must do for a chance to win.......and all you have to do ..............
Just tell me what your favorite cookie is! That's all. While stitching lowers my stress level, so do chocolate chip cookies! And for a store-bought cookie, there is nothing that beats "Double Stuff Oreos"! So........leave your name, e-mail or a link to your blog and tell me your favorite cookie! Jacquelynne will announce deadline for the book and the winning name. I'll be drawing names for the fabrics, patterns, etc. and will take comments through noon Saturday for those items. I surely hope I didn't forget anything. I am writing this from a computer in the University of Iowa hospitals where my mother has had surgery and is doing well. My mind has been a bit preoccupied but I know if I forgot anything, someone will remind me of what it is! Leave a comment and tell your friends to stop by, too!!! And for more chances to win.....check out Jacquelynne's blog today....... The*Noble*Wife !!!

Peanut Butter Cookies! Made with chunky peanut butter, of course! When I was a kid (oldest of 6) I did most of the dessert-baking for the family. I loved to make cakes. And I loved to make peanut butter icing. So...my siblings remember most of my cakes (spice, carrot, chocolate, cherry, white, yellow, whatever) slathered with peanut butter!

I have to admit that anything chocolate is welcome in my house, but I absolutely love the plain on spritz cookie. So easy to make, not too sweet and goes great with a cup of tea.

Hope your mom is doing well! I've rarely met a cookie that I didn't like - but my favorite is probably oatmeal chocolate chip. My brother makes the best cookies - wonder if I could talk him into whipping up a batch?

Oh yum.. It is really easy to make. You put peanut butter between two Ritz crackers (little sandwiches) Then dunk the whole thing into melted chocolate almond bark.. and set on waxed paper to set. Oh they are SOOOOOOOO good. So easy to make, and dangerously like a peanut butter cup.

Jocelyn said...

I make chocolate chip cookies, but instead of the chocolate chips, I use M & M's. Now THAT's my favorite. Right out of the oven :-)

It is so hard to just pick one cookie but I do love peanut butter cookies with a hershey kiss on top. We call them peanut butter blossoms. Yum!

Chocolate chip..but those big chunky chocolate bits are the best. I think I'll buy the book..never very lucky in winning stuff. Maybe if I go ahead and buy it, I'll win a copy. LOL

First and foremost, I hope that your mom recovers quickly and easily, and thank you for hosting this stop on the tour! You have such a generous giveaway planned! I love, love cookies with macadamia nuts and white chocolate - I don't know their name, unless it is just "White Chocolate Chip with Macadamia Nuts" but that is so unimaginative! LOL
Thanks for the chance to win!

My all time favorite cookie was a Nabisco cookie that had a mallow on a VANILLA cookie and topped with a chocolate coating. They don't make them anymore in spite of all my letters to them!!! Now, I settle for oatmeal cookies with almonds in them.

Ah, it's been a great tour! Almost hate to have it end, eh? Well, as a favorite cookie, mine is tied in with wonderful memories of my daughter's high school band days (one time, in band camp . . .!) - I would make 24 dozen chocolate chip cookies every other Thursday (band practice) night; there were 24 trumpeters in my daughter's unit and each one would have 1 dozen cookies! That's why I only did it every other week, LOL! A lot of work, but I just loved doing it for those crazy kids! Anyway, thanks for the opportunity to win something - just love the book!

I love my own chocolate chip cookies, but I don't think they are my favorite cookie. I found a recipe for glazed lemon cookies a few years ago in a magazine, and that is pretty darn good too. My grandmother used to make sour cream softies which are scrumptious and of course snickerdoodles are delicious. Do I have to pick just one? How about the humble vanilla wafer? YUM!

Great giveaway and I really hope I win it because I just love Jacquelynne's fabrics! Thanks, Sandi!

And, having said that, I have to say, Cowboy Cookies (chocolate or original) from Cuero Pecan Company or the chocolate yummies (dunno what they're called & don't have to - just go to the counter & ask for some of those yummy chocolate ones) from Halepeska's Bakery...oh, gosh, now you've got me drooling on the keyboard!

My favorite cookies are Buckeye's, but they are homemade. You mentioned Oreos, so I would say that my favorite store bought cookie would be Softbatch Chocolate Chip cookies or Nutter Butters.

I must tell you, Sandi, that I have been touched by the quote you have at the top of your blog. It really struck me how blessed you were to have a dad like you did. He apparently cherished you girls! He seemed to delight in providing the material for your mother to sew the matching dresses. I'm sure that you girls wearing the dresses together was a beautiful picture of the strong sense of family you all held. A man who "embraces" having girls is a gift few understand unless that have witnessed or experienced a father that loses interest in parenting because he has girls.

Blessings!

I am an Aussie and I love Kingston biscuits which are a crunchy biscuit with a chocolate icing inside. But for those days when you need to be comforted there are two choices, chewy Anzac biscuits or freezing cold Tim-Tams 'slammed' in a hot coffee.
This involves biting off diagonally opposite corners of the biscuits, dipping one bitten corner into a hot coffee and sucking the coffee through the biscuit until it is melting then slamming it into your mouth. Disgusting but SOOOOO good!
