A little yellow house in bloom!

This past Wednesday, I decided to take a "test drive" out to the church where I'll be doing a program this morning. It's "out in the country" and I'm not yet familiar with all the areas nearby so the "test drive" made sense. I was glad I did it, as now I know exactly where I'm going and how long it will take to get there!
After I located the church, I decided to head north to the town of Gaylord. I had a couple of errands to run and I wanted to visit here..........

......a little yellow house called "Bloomers". I think this is just too cute! It caught my eye a couple of weeks ago on another trip to Gaylord. As I drove into town, I noticed it was being painted yellow and there was a cute little shed out behind it that was also painted yellow. It's filled with pretty annual bedding plants and I wanted to buy some but we don't have a place to put them yet. So I wandered around and just soaked up all the prettiness!
The owner of this little venture is Traci Dummer. I asked her if she would mind if I took photos and posted them on my blog. She said sure....and I'm glad because since I cannot deliver a May Basket to all of you in celebration of May Day......this flower-filled post is the next best thing!
Traci has done a fantastic job of creating a really inviting and inspiring business here. She opened her business last November with Christmas and holiday greens but this is her first spring. She's living her dream!!!
Now, look at this photo below......rows of pretty plants and they have all been given names! There's......Amelia's Avenue......Ryan's Road......Lauren's Lane..........all named for her nieces and nephews! Isn't that sweet? The one on the far left has no sign yet but it will soon. There's a new baby just born to her sister and as soon as she learns the name, there will be a name on that row, too!
It was really a bit windy and it took that poor plant right to the ground. Looks calm but it was really breezy. I walked down Ryan's Road and took a turn and came to Tyler Turnpike........

And across from that row is Jovita Junction. This row is named for their "Exchange daughter" but I forgot to ask where she is here from.
Everywhere I looked there were cute vignette's with flowers and windchimes, birdhouses, all the fun things you might find in a garden.

This tree has got to be old. Look at all those sturdy branches that have grown from that one solid tree trunk!!

While I didn't buy any flowers, I did buy two packs of tomato plants. We may not have flower beds ready to work in but we do have a spot where we are going to plant some tomatoes! I took my plants inside to pay for them and discovered seeds and gift items and all sorts of fun stuff inside the shop. This was a really neat place!

Look at those wooden lattice baskets.......I think they are really nice and thought that if my husband doesn't help me get a flower bed going pretty soon, maybe I could just buy baskets and set them all around the front porch with pretty flowers in them. That probably won't work. LOL!
As I was walking down the steps to head to my car, I looked down and noticed these.............

Mushrooms!! It was a bit windy and while you can't see it in the photo, their tops were "bobbing" in the wind. They're ceramic and I think I will have to have some of these in my garden! They almost looked real!
It was such a gorgeous day.......perfect for picture taking........perfect for imagining how my garden might look next summer. I could have continued to walk around looking at the flowers but I decided it was time to head home. For those of you that read my blog and live nearby, be sure to stop at "Bloomers" because it's a real treat for the eyes and senses!
One last photo.......
Hope you enjoyed this little visit to Traci's shop and a whole lot of "Bloomers"!!
Happy May Day everyone!!
Sandi

I loved the visit. We planted 4 tomato plants and they are doing well at this point. We are still having cool evenings, but once it get hot, everything will burn up :-( Hope we get a few tomatoes to enjoy.

What a pretty place and I love how she has named "streets" for her plants! I hope you get a flower garden this year. Maybe you can tell hubby you want that as an early birthday present?

Thank you for the photos. Going along with you in spirit is the next best thing to being there myself, and it's just too far. Somehow, I think that you will be back to Bloomers now and then, to buy and to dream.

Thanks, Sandi that was fun. We that live in the Northern climates are certainly itching to get into our gardens and this was a wonderful start.
